Year 11 Accounting Excursion

Unit 1 & 2 Accounting students will be visiting the Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) office in Southbank. PwC is the second-largest professional services firm in the world, and is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms, along with Deloitte, EY and KPMG. PwC is offering our students an office tour and guest speakers to broaden students’ understanding on what it is like to be working as an Accountant. Students will be able to apply their theoretical knowledge learnt from the Study Design to real life employees in the industry. As part of this excursion, students will also be participating in the Great Accounting Scavenger Hunt where students will be visiting various retail and service businesses in the CBD. Students will need to find accounting practices within these business, such as the First-In-First-Out inventory management system.

Students will be meeting outside the PwC office in Southbank (Level 19/2 Riverside Quay, Southbank VIC 3006) at 9:30 am. To get to the PwC office, students can take the train to Flinders Street Station and walk (8 minutes) to PwC.

The tour at PwC will start at 10:00 am with a duration of 2 hours. Students will be given 1 hour to have lunch after the tour. Students will need to meet up again at 1:00 pm to start their scavenger hunt. Students will be dismissed at approximately 2:30 pm at Melbourne Central Station.

Students must arrive promptly at the PwC office no later than 9:30 am. Full academic uniform is mandatory. Opportunities for lunch will be provided for students at their own cost. Students are expected to bring a pen and the activity booklet.
