As part of our studies on traditional and contemporary artworks in Japan, students will have an opportunity to attend a workshop at the National Gallery of Victoria to learn about its cultural practice and history. After the one-hour workshop, we will head to the Consulate-General of Japan for an educational seminar on Japanese Pop Culture. Students will be given information about some unique features of the modern culture and discuss its influence amongst other countries. Lastly, we will make our way to an authentic ramen restaurant for lunch.
Students will need to meet at the school group entrance of the NGV (180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne) no later than 9.45am. It is important that the students have a valid MYKI card to travel on public transport. The school group entrance is located on the north side of the building, adjacent to the entrance to the Arts Centre. Please refer to the map for details. If students are running late, they can contact Ms Kamimura. Students will be dismissed between 2.00-2.30pm after lunch.
