This program allows students to experience a hands on activity directly related to the Unit 4 Chemistry content.
Year 12 students will be visiting Casey Tech to complete a hands on activity demonstrating some of the content from Unit 4 Chemistry. They will be using High Performance Liquid Chromatography to determine the presence, identity and quantity of parabens (antibacterial agents) present in a variety of commercially available cosmetics.
This activity will enhance the understanding of this aspect of the Unit 4 course.
Dress Code:
Academic uniform, including lab coat and eye protection.
Transport:
Students should meet Mr Monaco at the breakfast bar outside of the food room no later than 8.40 am and walk as a group to Casey Tech School, 25 Kangan Drive Berwick. Students will be dismissed from Casey Tech at the end of the session at approximately 12 pm, where they will walk as a group back to Nossal in time for the commencement of Period 4.
