A 50-minute, multiple choice competition testing science knowledge, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Questions are set in real-life, contemporary contexts. Coordinated and organised by Australian Science Innovations, students receive a certificate indicating their performance and schools will receive comprehensive reporting on student results compared to class, school and national averages.
Sitting the Big Science Competition could lead to selection in science extension programs including the Australian Science Olympiads and Curious Minds – girls in STEM.
Students need to report to the JRC at 11.15AM on Friday May 26th. They will be given 10 minutes to prepare and login to the system. The test takes 50 minutes. Students will be excused from period 3 for this activity.
