Nossal in the Community Chelsea Beach Volunteering
Beach Patrol is a network of volunteers that was formed to help clean the beaches of Melbourne. The Chelsea branch is run by one of our staff members. Students will have the opportunity to involve themselves in a volunteer activity and will be able to see the value of their contribution by the end of the day. Gloves and collection bags will be provided.
Students must bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen with them. They will need to bring a packed lunch and snack with them as we will not have access to the shops during the day.
Dress Code: Sports Uniform
Transport: Students will need to travel independently to this event via public transport and therefore will need a MYKI with sufficient funds for the return journey. Should students experience difficulties during transport, if they are going to be late, or if they are ill and unable to attend, they should contact Mrs Bonham immediately.
Students in Group A should travel to Edithvale station on the Frankston line arriving by 9:30am. Teachers will meet the group at the station and direct them to cross the Nepean Highway at the pedestrian crossing. The group will work their way up the beach towards Chelsea where students can get the train home from Chelsea station.
Students in Group B should travel to Bonbeach station on the Frankston line arriving by 9:30am. Teachers will meet them at the station and direct them to cross the Nepean Highway at the pedestrian crossing. The group will work their way up the beach towards Chelsea where students can get the train home from Chelsea station.
Students have been provided with a detailed handout on how to get to their designated beach location and have been allocated to either group A or B.
Rolls will be taken at each of the locations.
All students will be dismissed from Victory Park in Chelsea and those travelling by train will be escorted to the railway station by staff.
