Insight into Medical Research Day 2017
To celebrate Medical Research Week, the Gene Technology Access Centre and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research present a program for students in Year 10 with a demonstrated interest in science. Program features:
- Presentation from leading Toxoplasmosis researcher
- Tour of WEHI to meet scientists in their workplace
- Laboratory activities based on infectious disease
Students will be required to make their own way to the venue and will need a Myki with sufficient funds for the return journey. Students will also need to bring a snack and lunch as they will not be able to go to purchase food.
If students are ill on the day, unable to make it or running late, they should contact Nossal High School so that Mrs Ball can be informed
Dress Code: Full academic uniform
Transport: Students are to make their own way to the venue. The simplest route is to take a train to Melbourne Central and then take the route 19 Tram up Elizabeth St to tram stop 11 (Melbourne University). From here they should cross to the right side of the road and meet their teacher at 8.30am at Dr Dax Kitchen in the Kenneth Myer Building. The teacher will escort students to GTAC by 9am.
